Why the Aston Martin Vantage V8?
I blame my brother...
For many years I had admired the Aston Martin Vantage for it’s British-built stunning design.
Then - six years ago - I took one round Silverstone in a supercar experience.
My brother had treated me for a special birthday to ten laps in my dream car.
There were many cars flying around - Ferrari, Lotus and - interestingly enough - an Audi R8 which was the quickest car around the track.
But - before I even drove the car - there was only one car whose engine's rorty sound
stood head and shoulders above the rest.
The Aston Martin.
Then, fatefully, I drove her.
The first five laps under instruction; second five laps pedal to the metal. The responsiveness was fantastic.
I overtook that fastest car on the track - and the sound of the engine left my heart pounding and me dribbling...
Until that point - I had loved the idea of owning one.
At that point I seriously fell in love and knew that one day - I would buy one....
That day was 25th February 2020 - some six years later.
You cannot wait too long for a good thing...
This site is dedicated to my first dream car, Aston Martin Vantage V8 where I have popped on a personalised number plate, C3 RJC.
This is a car previously owned by Lord Jersey - the provenance backed up by the service history booklet; fully maintained and serviced by Jackson’s - the authorised Aston Martin dealer in Jersey - and with only 5622 miles on the clock when I bought her.

I have all that in my ‘day’ car.
This was about getting a car with a manual box; whose engine had not been thrashed (Jersey square mileage on the island is 46 - and the max speed limit - 40mph) and where I could get the most out of the driving experience.
Also - getting a car I would want to look after and cherish - just as had been done by the previous owner, Lord Jersey.
What caught my eye?
The mileage.
I had been scanning models for months - and this was an extremely low mileage - which I enquired about regarding legitimacy, as you might imagine.
On Friday 21st February 2020, I was visiting a natural history museum in Tring then noticed a new entry on eBay - showing 5600 miles on a 2007 AMV V8.
I jumped on it - contacted the dealer, Hillmoren, 22:16, that day.
Gareth sent photos 8:52 next morning, and I arranged a viewing and put down a holding deposit.
I viewed 25/2 11am (to be told they had had 15 emails/calls enquiring about the vehicle since) and after thoroughly inspecting the service history and documentation as well as a thorough external and internal inspection of the car - took her for a test drive.
She sold herself. No sales patter required.
Paid for her the same day, and made arrangements to collect (ultimately) on 16/3 after plates were changed; Williams paint protection was added - and new car mats had been fitted.
And of course the added comfort of knowing that this had been a Jersey car which explained the low mileage - and had been owned by Lord Jersey - was the icing on the cake.
